From what 17 owners of the Apple Watch SE 3 reported between July and October 2026. Earlier generations are not counted.
Much of what SE 3 owners talk about is getting the watch working the way they expected, not the hardware itself. As a first Apple Watch it wins people over on comfort, with one owner with a very small wrist happy with the 40 mm, and another coming from a Series 3 calling it light and fast enough that the Series 12 wasn't worth the extra money.
The friction is in software and battery. Owners report third-party apps that lean on the iPhone (YouTube Music) or don't pass notifications through (Instagram, Messenger), setup held up by required updates, and one owner whose sleep tracking stops after an hour or two each night. Battery reports from new owners are worrying in places: a cellular 40 mm used by a child with no Wi-Fi was projected to last around seven and a half hours, though another owner has left their iPhone behind for days on cellular without trouble so far.
Durability reports point both ways: one owner's screen has survived drops untouched, while another cracked the back glass, probably in a fall. It suits iPhone owners who want a light, inexpensive first watch and don't need the ECG app; parents planning to rely on cellular alone should test the battery during the return window.
