Withings ScanWatch Nova

iPhone and AndroidPaid tier: Withings+ECG (atrial fibrillation detection), FDA-cleared

Withings dresses the ScanWatch 2 health stack in a diver-style case: a unidirectional ceramic-and-steel rotating bezel, anti-reflective sapphire, Super-LumiNova hands and an integrated metal bracelet, plus a rubber strap in the box. It carries the same FDA-cleared ECG app, temperature tracking and 35-day battery rating, and doubles the water rating to 10 ATM. A smaller 39 mm ScanWatch Nova Brilliant is sold separately at 5 ATM.

  • Headline: Withings: "Up to 35-day battery life" (the same page's FAQ also mentions 30 days).
  • The analog hands show the time continuously; the small grayscale OLED lights on demand. Withings quotes a 2-hour full charge.

The ring’s outer track is the headline claim; the inner two are the always-on and GPS figures as a share of it. An empty track means Withings does not publish that figure. Why the figures differ

Cleared health features

  • ECG (atrial fibrillation detection) (FDA)Withings: "The Withings ECG App is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (510(k) K240795) to detect atrial fibrillation from a single-lead ECG"; FDA 510(k) K240795, Withings ECG App, decision 06/15/2025 Source

A clearance says what a feature is allowed to claim, not that it replaces a doctor. Cleared versus wellness features

What the extra money buys: Against the Withings ScanWatch Light, the extra ~$350 buys more cleared health features. See the Withings ScanWatch Light.

Features, per Withings

  • Single-lead ECG with FDA-cleared AFib detection
  • Unidirectional ceramic and stainless steel rotating bezel
  • Anti-reflective sapphire glass, Super-LumiNova hands
  • Metal link bracelet and fluoroelastomer strap included
  • 24/7 temperature tracking, overnight HRV and SpO2
  • 10 ATM water resistance
  • Connected GPS through the phone

Where the specs put it ahead

  • Same health sensors and ECG as ScanWatch 2 with a 10 ATM rating instead of 5
  • Ships with both a metal bracelet and a rubber strap
  • Lume and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal make it readable in the dark and in glare
  • Monthly charging even with ECG and temperature tracking

What it gives up

  • 63 g without bracelet is heavy for overnight sleep tracking
  • Costs about 60 percent more than ScanWatch 2 for materials, not health features

  • Notifications cannot be answered
  • Cardiologist review and Readiness need Withings+
  • One 42 mm size; the 39 mm Brilliant is a separate model

The two lists above are drawn from the maker’s own pages and prices, not from owner reports. Where owner discussion has been read it appears in its own section below, so the two are never mistaken for each other.

What owners say

From what 7 owners of the Withings ScanWatch Nova reported between July and October 2026. Earlier generations are not counted.

Owners treat the ScanWatch Nova as a good-looking everyday watch first. One owner wears an Apple Watch for exercise and keeps the Nova on for work, dressing up and general health tracking. One owner who moved to it from an Apple Watch Ultra and a TAG Heuer Connected decided to stay with it.

Where owners struggle is workouts and data. Two say heart rate during exercise is unreliable, one sees the watch and the app disagree sharply on calories, and another lost Active Energy syncing to Apple Health after it had worked for months. One owner wants a more flexible band than the steel bracelet, and another lists missing basics such as a configurable sub-dial, notification history and music controls.

It is meant for buyers who want Withings health tracking in a dressier diver-style watch and already have, or don't need, a dedicated workout tracker. Anyone hoping to use it as their only training watch should note the heart-rate reports.

What owners like

  • Owners wear it as their everyday or work watch and leave workouts to a second device, such as an Apple Watch, a Galaxy Watch or a WHOOP band
  • The diver-watch styling is the draw: one owner says he will accept less accurate live heart rate for the look, and another keeps it for work and dressing up
  • One owner coming from Apple Watch says it works well day to day, and another stayed with it after trying an Apple Watch Ultra and a TAG Heuer Connected

Common complaints

  • Workout heart rate is unreliable for owners, with odd readings left in exercise summaries and a jagged heart-rate trace during training even with the watch worn higher up the wrist
  • Data does not always agree or flow: one owner's watch showed about 5,600 calories while the app showed 3,500, and another found Active Energy stopped syncing to Apple Health after months of working
  • One owner finds the integrated metal bracelet too stiff to be comfortable
  • One owner misses basics hybrid rivals offer: the sub-dial is locked to the step goal, there is no notification history, and there are no music controls

Questions owners ask about the Withings ScanWatch Nova

Is the ScanWatch Nova good for tracking workouts?

Owners are lukewarm. Two report unreliable heart rate during exercise, and one owner wears an Apple Watch for training and keeps the Nova for daily wear.
